Money

As long as you are unemployed you are entitled to receive social welfare money, either from Landratsamt (Asylbewerberleistungen) or from Jobcenter. Both institutions cannot be visited personally at the moment.

• they will continue to pay the money by bank transfer to your bank account
• it is not possible to make appointments with the Jobcenter at the moment (neither with the Arbeitsagentur)

• if for example you lose your current job, you have to inform the Jobcenter
• you will then have to file an application in order to receive social welfare money from Jobcenter
• you can send this application by Email to Jobcenter-LK-Tuebingen@jobcenter-ge.de or put it into the mailbox at their office building in written form
• Usually you would have to visit the Jobcenter in person for this. But as the office there is closed dor the public, a written application is sufficient.

• the money will continue to be transferred to your bank account every month
• at the moment you are not obliged to visit the Landratsamt every month, in order to put your signature to prove that you are still present in Tübingen
• it is not necessary to file a new application if your previous „Leistungesbescheid“ expires. Money will continue to be transferred to you for the time being.

• at certain times, a window is open to the outside of the Landratsamt where you can receive your money in cash from the outside, without entering the building
• You should ask you social-worker when it is the best time to go there
